Oil Pastel on Paper, 5.5" x 9"
The view from 85th Street in Galvston is beautifully depicted in this oil pastel as the textures bring the waves of the Gulf of Mexico to life.
Having been a contemporary artist since completing graduate study in 1997, Ken Mazzu currently works in traditional media including watercolor, oil on canvas and charcoal on paper. Recently, his investigations in painting have drawn influence from the natural world and are currently focused on The Texas Chenier Coastal Plain, including the Brazos River area west and the Neches & Sabine River areas east. Specific interests include wetlands, coastal pastures, inland waterways, surrounding rice fields and the timeless Gulf Coast beaches that make up the southern edge of the regional Chenier Plain.
