There is a part of this book at the beginning where the kiddo licks honey off of an old book and it is a tradition in the family. The gist is that reading books opens us up to the world. Every time I read this book, I weep…because of the impact the teacher makes in the life of the little girl. This story is based upon the author’s life and is sooooo powerful!"
