The Build Hope, Not Walls exhibition is a way for artists to unite to bring positive changes to our world. Ever since the presidential campaign and election this past November, I have been upset by the white lash, the hate speech, and the xenophobia in our country. As an artist, I have wanted to do something positive to stem the tide of negativity. Nick's project is the perfect opportunity to do just that. My heart goes out to the refugees in our world, struggling to survive against nearly impossible odds. When I see my own country intent upon turning away the tired, the poor, the huddled masses yearning to breathe free, and the wretched refugees of so many teeming shores, I yearn for a return to humanitarian and inclusive policies.
