America has always been about helping strangers in need and welcoming them into our country. With the current mood shifting to one of increasing intolerance and denying help, the Build Hope Not Walls project spoke to me. My brick is hand-built from stoneware clay and represents a refugee woman peering out from behind her traditional niqab, hoping she finds acceptance and friendship in a new land.
