About Greg Hall
Greg is the Habitat and Stewardship Coordinator at Artist Boat.
He is a lifelong resident of Galveston County who was born in Texas City and raised by an avid outdoorsman who encouraged his forays into the wild areas still to be found in his hometown. He is an active citizen scientist and volunteer educator with Texas Reptile Conservation Outreach (TRCO), the Boy Scouts of America, State of Texas Reptile Relocation, a moderator for Southeast Texas Snake ID, and a former volunteer for Artist Boat. He is largely a self-educated naturalist with a special interest in herpetology; he received a Certificate in Zoo & Aquarium Science in 2017 from the Animal Behavior Institute (ABI). He has pursued a career in conservation outreach and fieldwork through volunteering, most recently on the 2017 Brazos River Watersnake Survey conducted by Texas Parks & Wildlife.
About Western Coachwhip
Masticophis flagellum is a species of nonvenomous colubrid snake, commonly referred to as the coachwhip or the whip snake, which is endemic to the United States and Mexico. Six subspecies are recognized, including the nominotypical subspecies.
