Artist Bio

Katherine Buchanan's love of painting people has led to many commissions that are on display in private and corporate collections throughout the United States, including universities, courthouses, corporations, and the Old capitol Museum in Jackson MS.

Katherine is an experienced painter of both children and adults. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Mississippi University for Women with a concentration in drawing and painting. Katherine spent many years working as an illustrator and Art Director for various magazines in addition to painting commissions. She also enjoys Plein air painting and drawing. 

She is a member of the Portrait Society of America, Mississippi Oils Painters Association, and Oil Painters of America. She is honored to be represented exclusively by the prestigious Portraits, Inc.(Birmingham/New York)
