With a musician father and actress mother, Wen LePore has been interested in art since childhood. After studying and teaching mathematics in China, she started to realize her dream to be an artist here in Virginia, taking drawing and painting with Sherry Trachtman and ceramics with Professor William Schran at Northern Virginia Community College. Wen sees all art forms —painting, sculpture, music, dance, literature—as “languages” to explain human emotions.
Wen has taken drawing and painting with Dan Thomson and with Robert Liberace at the Art League School. Exploring landscape with abstract art is her favorite. She thinks creating a great abstract artwork is the most difficult job for a painter—and that is the attraction for her. She paints mostly en plein air, but when painting to music in studio, she feels colors in the notes, with different music helping her create strong energy in different brush strokes. A member of Arlington Artists Alliance and The Art League, Wen is at work on a solo show, Human & Nature, a subject about which she is passionate.
