Working in collage permits me to say things in imagery, that I cannot express in words. Much of my work concerns reflections on the lives of women, including the hardships and suffering they are subject to.
This piece, Witnesses, is a simple but somber statement about what children see that threatens and endangers them.
What are they watching? What are they feeling? Is there any safety? Can anyone come to help? When a parent is being abused, whether physically or verbally, the life of the family is shattered.
Terror has been introduced into the lives of the parent and the children. Domestic violence has many victims. Who will protect and advocate for them?
