Artist’s Statement
This painting was inspired by a sudden weather change while sailing in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Singer Island, Florida. My photo references and experience of that moment begged to be captured in paint. The foreboding clouds are juxtaposed by flecks of brilliant sky, a reminder that storms are not everlasting and are often followed with blue skies – an optimistic mindset during the current pandemic storm.
