Nisqually River
16 "x 20", oil on linen
The Nisqually River is a river in west central Washington, approximately 81 miles long. It drains part of the Cascade Range, including the southern slope of Mount Rainier, and empties into the southern end of Puget Sound. I painted this work from a photo reference I took off a bridge in Mt Rainier National Park. I just loved the ribbons of the river tracing their way through the landscape and seemingly headed toward a sunlit spot in the distant mountains.
