Eld Inlet
9" x 12"
oil on linen
Eld Inlet is a long, shallow bay that lies at the south end of Puget Sound, near my home in Olympia, WA. It contains extensive tidelands and marine waters within a lowland Douglas-fir forest. Most of the inlet is less than 30 feet deep and the flow in and out is a visually a evident pattern design that I wanted to capture in this painting.
