Dusty Days is a gallery wrap piece on stretcher boards that are cut at a 45-degree angle, which allows this painting to be hung on the wall or in a corner where two walls meet. This piece is from my "Cactus of a Different Color" series where I use colors not necessarily found with saguaros. I had fallen in love with saguaros the day that I moved to Arizona in the '70s. Since then, I have painted them mainly in bold, and sometimes in muted colors, but always showing how I find them extremely interesting... looking like people standing guard in the desert - each with their own personalities!
