Tree Slice - Original Botanical Mixed Media Sculpture - Kim Walker measures 16" x 13" x 4"
This unique artwork is created on an actual tree slice. There are rose petals, leaves, and other botanical elements integrated into the artwork. I use acrylics and a variety of other paint mediums as well in the creation of my botanical mixed media compositions. The tree slice has steel rods and a mahogany base. This is a celebration of many offerings from nature.
The sculpture can be seen from all sides and each side has a unique composition. The bark edges are natural and beautiful.
Kim's work is currently being shown at the Mayo Clinic, Phoenix Second Floor Gallery. The Mayo mission is to provide the best care to every patient. They believe the art installations provide a positive and healing environment and contribute towards their mission. Kim's intention is to showcase the beauty, inspiration, metaphoric lessons, and healing that we can find in nature.
