The artists of Laughing Glass Studio, Carole and Don Carroll have been happily creating art glass for 30 years. By the early 1990s, Laughing Glass had a base of collectors and designers that allowed them to work full time developing functional and sculptural glass art in their Cave Creek studio. Growing demand for affordable and functional art glass has led to constantly evolving designs that reflect both artists’ love of Arizona sunsets, desert landscape, bright colors, and unexpected elements.  This is one of Carole’s signature “Glass Tapestries,” represented in top fine glass galleries around the country and collected around the globe. It is multiple layers of glass cane, fused and manipulated by hand at 1500 degrees. Glass cane gives this sculpture a thread-like appearance as if it were woven on a traditional frame loom. Carole became a Spur Cross Ranch activist in 1994 and co-founded the Foothills Empty Bowls Project in 2001. Locally, Carole serves on the board of the Sonoran Arts League and has served on the DFLT Board and others and is active in many other arts organizations. She notes: "I've learned some simple rules first hand: the more you give, the more you get. When you lead with your heart, the universe supports you."
