This is a limited edition reproduction of one of Brenda Kincaid Beatty’s most popular works.
Brenda began enjoying art at an early age. She painted with no formal instruction throughout her childhood. At WVU she studied with Joe Moss, John Clarkson, and Ben Freedman. After graduating with a BFA, Brenda worked as a social worker, early childhood specialist, and administrator. She taught art at Sunrise Museum, the Charleston Art Gallery, and in London, England. She currently teaches water color painting at the Hansford Senior Center.
Brenda uses multiple media including photography, but watercolor is her first love. She does mostly still life and portraits. Brenda also works extensively in religious art including vestment design, banners, and icons. She painted the banner that led the national Episcopal delegation in the 1963 March on Washington. Brenda's banner appeared on the cover of a national publication.
Brenda's work has been exhibited at West Virginia University, Kanawha County Schools, West Virginia Watercolor Society, Stations of the Cross 2006, Carnegie Hall, Tamarack, Museum in the Community, Festivall, The Renaissance Gallery, West Virginia Art and the 2008 Craft Guild Competition held in Parkersburg, Wheeling, and Concord.
Brenda Kincaid Beatty is a member of the Allied Artists of West Virginia, The West Virginia Watercolor Society, and the West Virginia Art and Craft Guild.
