Wanderlust Cottage (La Grange, NC)

The Space

This bungalow built in 1924 is filled with furniture, artwork and textiles from around the world.

Guest Access
As a cousin to the fine folks at Brothers Farm, we are excited to share this special place with you! Whether you are in the area to visit Chef and the Farmer, or just wish to get away for the weekend, this is the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle in big city life.

And speaking of Brothers Farm, if you are interested in having Miss Lillie come and teach a Professional biscuit making class, let us know.

Interaction with guests
A light continental breakfast can be provided if you are interested. We also encourage you to bring any food or groceries and cook in the kitchen.

The neighborhood
We are located in downtown La Grange and just steps away from its charming Art Gallery, and 14 miles from Kinston, NC, and the "Chef and the Farmer" restaurant, Boiler Room Oyster Bar, Mother Earth Brewery and Tap Room, North Street Pub, the Overland Art Gallery, the Kinston Arts Council, the Red Room, Ginger 108 and Sugar Hill Pizzaria. These restaurants and bars are near the CSS Neuse History Museum, and next to the Arts and Cultural district in Kinston and the African-American art trail. There is also a coffee shop and other neat stores along Herritage Street and Queen Street to visit.

Getting around
There are a few private taxi companies that we can share with you prior to your arrival. You won't find any big yellow taxis in Lenoir County, but there are enough other options to get you to and from your destination.

Other things to note
If you enjoy playing the piano, this is the perfect place for you! There is a baby grand piano in the living room overlooking the front lawn.
