Oil on canvas, 11" x 15" 2020. This original painting addresses the tragic bleaching of our coral reefs, including those in the coastal region of B.C.s Great Bear Rainforest. By rendering part of the vibrant, living reef in black and white, I hope to create a contrast to the living reef that unsettles the viewer. It is a visual call to action, to bring awareness to these endangered reefs before they disappear, or evanesce. I plan to continue creating more works in this compelling series. This painting is in a tasteful white frame and is ready to hang.
