KHUTZEYMATEEN (PRO)
The Grizzly swimming in the ice cold water in the Bear Sanctuary of BC's remote Khutzeymateen wilderness expresses how animals thrive when humanity honours both their habitat and their Beingness. I painted the bear with exceptionally vivid reddish brown fur and an alert look to contrast the stark landscape in early Spring. In Khutzeymateen, the bears have a place free from the all the multiple threats they endure elsewhere from humanity. This is a special place for Bear conservation which is visited by animal lovers from many countries. Acrylic on artist paper 11 by 17
