Mindfulness Outreach Support
In the past 6 years, we have witnessed the courage of nearly 14,000 individuals belonging to courageous communities and the professionals who serve them. Participants in our outreach programs report feeling less stress in their lives and feeling calmer in the face of challenges.
Each week, our teachers:
• Inspire survivors of violence to heal and to take courageous steps towards a new and better future;
• Share evidence-based practices with veterans so they can heal from the traumas of war;
• Create a safe and compassionate place for those experiencing homelessness to gather and find support;
• Prepare men in prison for reentry into our communities by guiding them in practices of healthy decision-making and compassionate action;
• Provide bilingual (Spanish/English) mindfulness instruction to immigrant communities who are uninsured or under-insured.
We also strive to transform and heal the very conditions that cause suffering in our communities by dovetailing our outreach with healing and justice work, which challenges various systems of oppression that influence our society. We seek to uplift and listen deeply to those most impacted by oppression and assist others in becoming effective allies in the work of liberation and social healing. For more information about these initiatives, please read our Healing and Justice Statement and Scholarship Fund.
