TWO ICONIC QUARTER CENTURY OLD WINES FROM NAPA VALLEY
1995 Joseph Phelps Insignia
1995 Opus One
(current retail value: $500++)
In the early 1970s Joseph Phelps began to make a (primarily Cabernet Sauvignon) Bordeaux
style blend with the “Insignia” label. Since that time, the Joseph Phelps Insignia has become one
of Napa Valley’s most sought after bottles and the flagship wine for this property.
In the early 1980s, Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild (of the famed Mouton
Rothschild first growth Bordeaux estate) began a joint venture to produce a Bordeaux style
cuvee from the Napa Valley, and they named it Opus One.
The 1995 vintage is considered to be an excellent one for Napa Valley red wine. You will have
the opportunity to taste history if you win the bid for these two wonderful wines.
Since these wines have been properly cellared, they are GUARANTEED to be in good condition.
If one wine is found not to be in good condition (it still CAN happen), please contact us at the
above number and it will be replaced by a bottle of similar or greater value. So, please feel free
to bid high and bid often.
