Keith Lewis: Hiirodo Earrings

Japanese patina (copper is textured), then heated nearly to the melting point, then plunged into boiling water to achieve a plum red color. The other half round sterling shape was 18 karat plated, then the artist burred through the plating and oxidized the exposed sterling. The rest is made from sterling silver square stock, fabricated and 18 karat plated.
